Designated as a regional MAC, Palmetto GBA administers benefits for home health and hospice agencies' services to Medicare beneficiaries in Home Health and Hospice providers in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas
On or after December 10, 2018, CMS will begin the Review Choice Demonstration (RCD) for Home Health Agencies in Illinois. RCD will expand to Ohio, North Carolina, Florida, and Texas over the subsequent several months with the option to expand to other states in the Palmetto/JM jurisdiction. Review Choice Demonstration
CMS has implemented the Review Choice Demonstration (RCD) in Illinois and Ohio. RCD will expand into Texas on March 2, 2020. The demonstration is expected to begin in Florida and North Carolina on May 4, 2020. CMS may exercise the option to expand to other states in the Palmetto/JM jurisdiction in the future. CMS started the demonstration in Illinois on June 1, 2019. Under this demonstration, CMS will offer choices for providers to demonstrate their compliance with CMS' home health policies. Providers in the demonstration states may participate in either 100 percent pre-claim review, 100 percent postpayment review, or minimal post payment review with a 25% payment reduction. Providers who had a high performance rate under the previous Pre Claim Review program (PCR) will have additional options. Use this link to get the latest CMS information on RCD
